Power Flushing
Over time, your central heating system can be blocked or suffer from reduced
flow caused by a sludge build up. To keep your central heating system
flowing and working efficiently, prevent burst pipes in your home and reduce
energy bills, a power flush is the answer to your problems. The main
symptoms of sludge and scale are a noisy boiler and cold spots on your
radiators from a build-up of this scale.
Hot and Cold Plumbers has a dedicated flushing pump, which uses high volume,
velocity and low pressure to clean through your system. Special chemicals
are used to loosen then mobilise any scale deposits in your pipes and
radiators, effectively removing any stubborn coatings to the inside of your
system and then flushing them out. The chemicals used to power flush your
system will be chosen to suit its exact requirements.
It will be power
flushed methodically and thoroughly, pipe by pipe, radiator by radiator,
including the boiler. Once your whole system has been power flushed
thoroughly we will refill it with clean water, and a corrosion inhibitor
will be added to your central heating system. This will be clearly labelled
as containing this chemical substance.
A Power Flush is usually completed within one day, but it does depend
on the type of system you have and also the number of radiators.
Power Flushing of radiators central heating systems will not damage them.
However, it is also important to note that power flushing will not repair
any existing internal corrosion, and the removal of deposits may expose
small leaks. On rare occasions we do see that a leak may show which had been
previously blocked by the deposits. These leaks can be remedied.
